Princeton Student Claims Language Fluency on Linkedin Profile After Receiving an A- in a 101 Level Class

Over break, Princeton student João Baxter-Collins ‘29 was seen updating the Linkedin language section on his profile to claim “Native or bilingual proficiency,” the highest level of language fluency, of Portuguese. According to sources close to him and João himself, he was enrolled in POR 101 last fall and received an “A-” in the class. “I really identified with the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture during class, and with the newfound ability to introduce myself, order a meal, and talk about the upcoming world cup - or should I say, copa do mundo,” João said with a wink to our interviewer, “I truly feel more and more Brazilian with every coming day. My real name isn’t even João, it’s John - I just changed my name to something that more accurately conveys my true identity.” João cut our conversation short to challenge the TigerMag team to a Samba dance battle, which he proudly won.
