VP Sales

Responsibilities:

  • recruit team of Corporate Contacts Managers to assist in making advertisement and subscription sales
  • manage contacts with a wide array of companies who are possible advertisers in the magazine and organizations who are possible strategic partners

Skills:

  • great social and networking skills
  • good attitude and polite demeanor in person and on the phone
  • strategic and creative thinking ability
  • leadership and management skills

The VP of Sales is an excellent position for anyone interested in cultivating their business networking and leadership skills. You will be required to build, manage, and train a team of Account Managers. The skills gained in this position will be invaluable to you in the future and will certainly be helpful in landing that first job.

VP Publishing

Responsibilities:

  • negotiates rates and places orders with the printer
  • makes sure the new issues are delivered to the Tiger offices on time and is in charge of distributing all of the issues to all of the locations on campus and off where Tiger distributes.
  • attempts to increase circulation via subscription sales and possibly distribution deals in conjunction with the VPs of Sales and Marketing

Skills:

  • great punctuality and organization skills
  • ability to deliver under deadlines
  • strong attention to detail

The VP of Publishing makes sure that the actual print issues of the magazine make it to their destinations – subscribers and every door on campus.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Responsibilities:

  • oversees all financial records of the magazine
  • must not be captured by authorities so that he can never testify
  • thinks of creative ways to run the finances of the magazine efficiently and makes sure that all records accurately reflect the business situation of the magazine at a given time

Skills:

  • understanding of basic accounting
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills

The CFO keeps the books. This is a great position in which to gain hands on experience in the finance and accounting areas of an organization.

VP Marketing

Responsibilities:

  • in charge of getting the word out about the magazine to increase readership of both the print issues and the website
  • gathers data and statistics about the current audience both online and in print
  • provides data to the sales teams to assist them in recruiting advertisers
  • works with sales and publishing to increase circulation by gaining new subscribers

Skills:

  • creativity and strategic thinking ability
  • strong research and analytical skills

VP Design

Responsibilities:

Creates and modifies the layout of the magazine or hires someone to do so. Works on the layout and appearance of the website. Works on all graphic arts jobs and is essentially responsible for the appearance of Tiger to the outside world.

Skills:

The VP of Design should be someone who has impeccable taste and who is a talented graphic designer. He will be responsible for the layout of the magazine, the images used, the logos, effects, and similarly for the website. What people see when they look at Tiger as an organization is designed by the VP of Design and his team. This includes also all internal documents, the media kit, fliers, external documents, letterhead, stationery, business cards, and anything that people look at which could be helped by an attractive and professional design.

Writing Team – Writers

Responsibilities:

Writes content for the magazine, generating ideas for creative articles, promotions, contests, and the like.

Sales Team – Account Managers

Responsibilities:

  • manage contacts with a wide array of companies who are possible advertisers in the magazine
  • recruit subscribers
  • help build strategic partnerships

Skills:

  • great social and networking skills
  • good attitude and polite demeanor in person and on the phone
  • strategic and creative thinking ability

Account Manager is an excellent position for anyone interested in cultivating their business networking and leadership skills. You will be required to build relationships with organizations which will teach you a great deal and leave you with a great list of contacts. The skills gained in this position will be invaluable to you in the future and will certainly be helpful in landing that first job.

Web/Tech Team

Responsibilities:

  • Work on overseeing all technical operations of the magazine and website.
  • Use coding skills and knowledge of other software to develop improvements to the website

Skills:

  • Computer science savvy
  • Coding skills helpful – especially PHP/MySQL
  • Graphic design skills helpful

Social Media Marketer

Responsibilities:

  • Assists VP of Marketing in raising awareness of Tiger through social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, etc…

Skills:

  • Are you a connector?

Pranks Director

Responsibilities:

Comes up with creative prank ideas or any manner of publicity stunt to raise awareness of Tiger.
